Q: What is DTF?

DTF (Direct-To-Film) printing is a new and innovative process where high-resolution
images are printed with specialized inks onto PET film. This printed film is known as a DTF
Transfer, which is then heat pressed onto various substrates, producing vibrant, full-color
designs with superior quality and durability.

Q: What is a gang sheet?

A gang sheet, in the context of DTF printing, refers to a large print sheet that contains
multiple designs arranged strategically to make the most out of the available space.
Instead of printing individual designs on separate sheets, a gang sheet allows you to print
various designs simultaneously on one large sheet. This approach is not only cost-effective
but also significantly reduces material waste.

Q: Why use a gang sheet?

Cost Efficiency: By placing multiple designs on one sheet, you reduce the amount of film
used, which directly lowers your costs.
Material Conservation: Gang sheets minimize the waste of DTF film, making your
operations more sustainable.

Versatility: Gang sheets can accommodate designs of various sizes and shapes, making
them ideal for printing a diverse range of products.

High-Quality Output: Even with multiple designs on a single sheet, the print quality
remains impeccable, ensuring your customers receive top-notch products.
Customizability: You can customize the layout of your gang sheet to suit your specific
needs, whether you’re printing logos, full-color graphics, or intricate designs.

Q: What file format and resolution should I use?

To ensure that your DTF prints come out looking their best, there are some best practices
to follow when preparing your artwork. Here are some of the best practices for preparing
artwork for DTF printing:
Use High-quality Images: Use high-resolution images that are at least 300 DPI for the best
results. This will ensure that your design is sharp and clear.
Use Vector Graphics: Use vector graphics instead of raster graphics for your design where
possible. Vector graphics are scalable and can be resized without losing quality.
Use the Right Color Mode: Use CMYK color mode for your design. This will ensure that the
colors in your design are accurately reproduced. RGB Colour artwork needs to be
converted and can cause variances in expected colour.
Use the Right File Format: Use file formats such as PNG, TIFF, for raster formats and PDF
or AI for your vector designs.
Use transparency in your Design: Design your artwork with a transparent background
where possible, allowing the color of the garment or substrate to show through the design.
If the design is going on a black shirt, try to remove black areas from your design to
improve breathability, we can assist with this if needed.
Please call if you have any questions or concerns.

Q: What are the pressing instructions?

Follow these simple instructions for a perfect application:
1. Pre-press your garment for 3-5 seconds to remove any moisture in the fabric
2. Position and place the transfer onto the garment and place a transfer/parchment
paper over the top for the best results.
3. Press the transfer using an heat press at 150-160 degrees Celsius for 10-15 seconds
for cotton and cotton blends or 140-150 for 10-15 seconds for polyester using
medium pressure.
4. Allow the garment to cool completely and peel from one corner. While some films
are hot peel, a Cold peel generally yields best results.
5. It is recommended to do 1 final press which will provide longer lasting results of
50+ wash cycles. To repress, simply place the parchment paper directly over the
transfer again and press as per the first press temperature and time.
